I used to be really shy. Actually, I still am shy but I hide it really well. It's taken me YEARS of working on it all on my own to get to where I am but you can do it a hell of a lot faster if you actually approach it with a purpose and work on it constantly.
The more you try talking to a woman the easier it will become. Trust me on that one. Approach it with a "who gives a fuck" attitude so that you loosen up. I mean seriously, the women that you stike out with you'll probably never see again anyway so if you stick your foot in your mouth, who gives a fuck.
Once you have some experience under your belt, you'll stop stumbling over your words because you'll have learned what to say in any given situation. But also keep in mind that women also like the strong silent type so you don't have to be the one to ramble on and on. You'll actually have more success if you don't.
The biggest thing though is changing your persona so that you exude a self confidence and portray yourself as an alpha male. Women want a confident man, or at least one that appears confident because later they change their mind and want you all sensitive and shit.
You'll gain a lot of your confidence and the attitude you need as you get better at talking to women and actually have some success at bedding them. Getting the first phone number is an incredible feeling.
You also want to develop a type of "bad boy" persona as, contrary to what they actually say, women are attracted to bad boys. Develop your own "style" of bad boy. I'm a nice guy, very far from a bad boy, EXCEPT when it comes to the bedroom and that's what I let out in my innuendo.
