This one isn't all that easy to answer because it depends on what you're looking for. The main thing to remember is that you're looking for places where you can get them talking to you so you can work your game if you're not some stud. My site isn't about walking into a place and walking out with a sure thing. My site is about meeting women, talking to them, working them and then getting laid at some later date.
Bars, nightclubs, parties etc. are the obvious ones as drunk women are going to be easier to score with. That's also the places where women are going to go if they're also looking to get laid. So really, it's about the only place you can go to score pretty much right away. But these places are also much harder unless you've got some real game. At the start I wouldn't recomend trying these places as they can lead to dissapointment that stops you from continuing your hunt. Once you've got yourself some game, then you can head to the bars to get laid.

Grocery stores. There's usually some area of the city/town where there's mostly single people so figure out which ones in your area have single women shopping at them. Act "stupid" and ask women questions about the food or what's a better deal or brand etc. Women just LOVE to help out useless men. Don't forget to chat up the checkout girls either.
Strip clubs can be good as well if you know how to use the green to entice the strippers.
This one may be surprising but lingerie stores or departments. I'm not sure what it is, but a fumbling man in a lingerie store attracts some women. Since lingerie communicates "sex", you've already got a leg up. So how do you use this? Consider this potential opening dialog with one of the store girls or some other women. "Excuse me, this is going to sound really weird and I don't know why the hell I'm even in here. Long story but somehow I let my sister talk me into running out here to buy her a bra. My last girlfriend never told me anything about this type of stuff so can you help me please?" Brilliant isn't it?
Dating sites. I also outline more about this later in the site.
Places like art galleries, libraries and book stores can be great as people tend to linger. That gives you the time to approach women and start talking to them. Since they're not associated with being pick up places, a woman won't be "on guard" and so you'll be able to get talking to them easier. These places are also perfect for honing your communication skills so be sure and use them.
MySpace. I haven't used this one myself but I've been told it can be really great. So bascially any of the social networking sites could be worked to get you laid.
Very important: Practice, practice and practice so you don't strike out all the time.
